Hello World! I'm Brandon Tasaki.
I love solving complex problems with code.
About Me
After 7 years of teaching AP Statistics and Geometry to high school students, I decided to pursue the beautiful marriage of my passions for problem-solving and creativity: software engineering. The transition from Mathematics to Computer Science was surprisingly seamless, thanks to the abilities to think creatively, process logically, and plan strategically that were developed and honed during my journeys through statistical analysis.
Since transitioning into software engineering, I have designed, coded, and deployed three full stack projects (two solo projects and one team project). Despite enjoying my two solo projects, my favorite was working with my team. I truly enjoy working with people, understanding their communication styles, and building something incredible.
One of my favorite things about writing code is how you can take a single idea, code it out, dress it up with a little style, and see it rendered on a webpage. In my mind, it’s a beautiful combination of Art and Mathematics.
I am constantly striving to improve my understanding and fluency of the various programming languages and technologies, and am always eager to take on the next challenge. If you’re interested in getting connected, please reach out to me!

Projects
My first ever full stack project was an application based on the popular site Meetup. It was not without its challenges, but it was such a great feeling to deploy something that I literally made from scratch.
Squeal
This was my first group project that I ever worked on, and we made an application inspired by Yelp. It was such an awesome experience working with other talented developers to complete this project in a one-week timeframe.
PearBnB
I chose to recreate AirBnB because of how attractive the site is designed and how extensive the backend is. It was an amazing experience for me to take on the challenge of a site with such incredible CSS styling.
